Dr. Suresh Hungenahally, a visionary leader, embarked on a journey of dreams after his significant tenure as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of the Victorian Government in Australia. With a compelling aspiration, he envisioned creating his own cybersecurity platform. In 2011, stepping away from his position as CISO, leveraging his extensive experience with distinguished organizations like KPMG Consulting, Capgemini, Australian Defence, Australian Tax Office, Griffith University, National Australia Bank, and Brisbane City Council, he founded Suraksha Pty Ltd in Melbourne, Australia – a company dedicated to cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions.
Just like any entrepreneur, Dr. Suresh faced initial challenges in stabilizing his business. Drawing from his role as a trusted advisor to numerous clients and understanding their pain points, he recognized the urgent need for an infallible cybersecurity platform. With a dedicated team, he set out to build this platform from scratch. By 2017, the first pilot platform was successfully implemented, marking a significant milestone. From there, the company rapidly expanded its global footprint.
During the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Suresh and part of his team found themselves stranded in the Middle East while working on a project. This unexpected situation catalyzed the company’s transformation to the next level.
In late 2022, a pivotal internal restructuring took place, ushering in a new era for the company. Key individuals were welcomed to the board of directors, injecting fresh perspectives and expertise. Under Dr. Suresh’s leadership, Suraksha established ThIRU Labs, a profitable division specializing in cutting-edge platforms that had been developed over the years.
ThIRU Labs, with its focus on Zero Trust Architecture, has crafted more than 12 advanced products. This expansion is a testament to Dr. Suresh’s unyielding dedication to innovation and excellence. The journey of growth and progress continues, reflecting the unceasing commitment of Dr. Suresh and his team to redefine the landscape of cybersecurity.
